1) Northern Territories (Hoppou ryoudo) - should they go back Japan?

2) It is the international problem which affect on all over the world politically, economically. Also, it has been occurred for a long time since the end of WWⅡ.

3) I learned more about Northern Territories because I'm from Hokkaido. Moreover I have been to Russia twice and I wondered "How should Japan and Russia get agreement each other?"

my reaction to Fisher

I'm surprised how influenced our perception are by the non-sensory perception. We tend to ignore some perception due to our experience or evaluation.

Reaction to the Barna text

I tend to misunderstand because of nonverbal misinterpretations and stereotypes.

I have a question that whether the dialects are included in a danger of language differences. In my experience of SEA programme, it is more difficult for me to understand English spoken by Spanish than English spoken by native and Japanese. I needed to ask Spanish to speak repeatedly. They pronounce ‘party’ as ‘palty’ and ‘Edinburgh’ as ‘edinbulgo’, like Spanish language. Also I think that Preconceptions and Stereotypes are serious problem with cultural misunderstanding because I will try to avoid people to whom I have negative image. Moreover they make bigger influence to people who don’t know well the other.

Summer Book Report

1) title: The Hobbit

2) author: J.R.R Tolkien

3) the reason I choose it: One reason is that I like fantasy story, especially I am interested in English fantasy story because I went there this summer. Another reason is I like the Lord of the Ring which is the story after the Hobbit.

4) summary: The hero is Bilbo Baggins. He is a Hobbit, the half height of human. It is written about Bilbo’s growth to hero through the adventure. He goes journey with Gandalf, a wizard, and thirteen dwarves to slayer the dragon and get back the dwarves’ treasure. The party goes through the trolls, the goblins, the wolves and the dragon. They fight against with the elf and human due to the treasure but finally they can achieve their purpose. It is the story before the Lord of the Ring.

5) reaction: Bilbo was not suitable for the hero at first, but as he went through the adventure, he got tougher and more courageous. It looks like a shorten story of human. There are many difficulties, and sometimes you can’t get over and someone help you, however you can overcome in the end. Also, I think it includes a problem of race and stereotypes. It is branded that the all of the elf is honest and thoughtful, the all of the dwarf is sometimes greedy but friends of human, however the all of the goblin is ugly, malicious and worthless to be friend. I suppose that there are good goblins and that a few elf do bad thing. The meaning of race is different in some ways, in this book the human and the dwarf is different genetically, but it is the same fact that the race is combined with the stereotype.

How was my summer?

Amazing!!! I went for SEA programme to Edinburgh, the U.K. I could make friends from all over the world. I keep in touch them and chat on Facebook almost everyday.
Also, I went back my hometown Hakodate, Hokkaido. It was pity that I couldn't see my friends, but I went out my mother.


What do i want to learn/get from ARW Autumn?


I want to learn how to write papers which are organized well and thought deeply.
